The apartment is the previous home of the couple who moved in a new
house a bit further on the premises and currently only their son lives
in the adjacent part. Although the inside looks very modern, the outside
building origins from the 16th century. Via a private entry and stairs
you enter a huge apartment. The first room is a large kitchen with a
kitchen island; all is equipped with the best quality devices like the
dishwasher or induction cooker and lots of tableware. The second room is
a large sitting room and on the same floor there are 2 bedrooms with
very good beds. More beds are on the second floor. One bedoom has a
balcony with a view directly on the Westerwald (which has nice walking
path straight from the premises) and the ancient water wheel which is
now used to generate electrity. We did like the (constant) sound of
water and wheel; if you do not you can choose one of the other bedrooms.
The apartment has floor heating which reacts on outside temperature
which may mean that you prefer to open a window if you prefer a cooler
temparature to sleep. The environment is very quiet and the hosts are
also very friendly.
We were only the 2nd tenants; we have made
some suggestions (such as placing a microwave oven) that have probably
already been implemented by the time you read this.
