Finding a detached house with a fair amount of nature around it is usually not easy. This chalet is outside Luvigny along the D184 - but that road is just over a car wide and hardly any traffic passes. The road, at least the paved part of it, ends on an open hilly terrain with grass and scattered trees of about 1 ha, in which there are five (holiday) houses. You see forest and wooded hills around you. The other houses are 50-100 m from the house, and we hardly noticed that there were residents.

We started to inquire about a possible source of noise, the colony Notre Dame Dutroux, which is not far from it, we read some reviews about this. Daniëlle answered very quickly: actually groups only stay in July and August. The result for us was an exceptionally quiet stay, being completely quiet at many times. You will not hear much from the D392, which is 500 m away, it is not exactly the busiest road in France.

Daniëlle received us very warmly and some attentions were ready for us. She travels to the house from her hometown of Nancy to receive the guests.

The chalet itself is nicely furnished, a bit museum-like here and there. There are nice sun loungers in the large garden, there is a sofa, a small TV, a dining area, and you can sit outside on a porch. There is one bedroom with a (fairly common in France) small double bed and a terrace door. There is also a second smaller bedroom. On the half-height upper floor are two good mattresses on the landing, and two mattresses in a separate low room, which also feels very cozy. There is a storage room with two more beds, but that room has no windows. Shower and toilet are in one room, where the shower cabin is very small. The kitchen includes a large fridge with freezer, a microwave and a small oven.

The forest directly on the road is partly private, but there are also public paths; these go up considerably, but then give a nice view. We could even use bicycles. We therefore agree with the many positive reviews. With the exception of July and August, this may be one of the quietest places to rent.
