With only 2 million inhabitants Botswana is a nice country to travel. No queues, not even in the capital Gaborone (except for accidents and roadwork...)
The accommodation in the Okovango (Chobe NP) is however extremely expensive. so we decided to visit some places more to the south.
Note: When you cross the border from South-Africa you need to have a
permit from the car rental company to allow the car to be taken to
Swaziland. You have to apply for it in advance and it will cost a certain
amount. In our case (Hertz) it costed ZAR 1600. For that amount we were
allowed to visist several countries, like Swaziland and Botswana. Unfonately
they didn't have the papers ready so that costed us another 2 hours.
And
if you take the car with you, you have to pay road tax at the border where
you enter the country.
